{"id":12168,"date":"2014-06-23T07:33:28","date_gmt":"2014-06-23T07:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.1.14\/index.php\/2014\/06\/23\/ukraine-2014-06-23\/"},"modified":"2025-09-01T01:20:23","modified_gmt":"2025-08-31T17:20:23","slug":"ukraine-2014-06-23","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/andrewliu.com.hk\/zh\/ukraine-2014-06-23\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8139\" src=\"https:\/\/andrewliu.com.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2003\/10\/ukraine_b.jpg\" alt=\"ukraine_b\" width=\"100\" height=\"66\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Calls between Ukrainian ports and Crimean Region<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The situation<\/strong><br \/>Members will be aware of the continuing and developing situation affecting the country of Ukraine, particularly with regards to the status of the region of the Crimea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Association has learned that there may now be issues with respect to calls at Ukrainian ports after a call at a port in the Crimean region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Legal and practical situation<\/strong><br \/>Advice received from the Association\u2019s correspondents DIAS states that recent legal changes in Ukrainian law have created a complicated situation for anyone who seeks to travel to the Crimean region from Ukraine, as well as for any transit from the Crimea to Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These legal developments will affect the crew of vessels that may be calling at ports between these two areas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A failure to comply with these procedures can lead to delay as well as criminal prosecution. Such prosecution could involve fines, detention, jailing and confiscation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Loss prevention advice<\/strong><br \/>If members are planning a call at a port in Ukraine before or after a call at a port in the Crimean region, it would be prudent to carefully check the latest situation with respect to the law of Ukraine as well as its practical implementation by Immigration and Customs authorities.
