{"id":8964,"date":"2005-11-01T10:21:43","date_gmt":"2005-11-01T10:21:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.1.14\/index.php\/2005\/11\/01\/china-2\/"},"modified":"2025-09-01T01:22:01","modified_gmt":"2025-08-31T17:22:01","slug":"china-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/andrewliu.com.hk\/zh\/china-2\/","title":{"rendered":"China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8050\" src=\"https:\/\/andrewliu.com.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2003\/11\/china_b.jpg\" alt=\"china_b\" width=\"100\" height=\"66\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Avian Influenza Health Advice &#8211; Hong Kong SAR<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following the outbreak of Avian Influenza (H5N1) in Asia and Europe, the Hong Kong Marine Department have issued health advice for ship masters, persons-in-charge of vessels and crew.<\/p>\n<p>Marine Department Notice No. 174 of 2005 lists Department of healthcare advice as follows:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Avoid direct contact with birds and poultry<\/li>\n<li>Wash hands thoroughly with liquid soap and water immediately after contact with live poultry, birds or their droppings<\/li>\n<li>Cook poultry and eggs thoroughly before eating<\/li>\n<li>Cover nose and mouth while sneezing or coughing. Dispose of sputum or secretion wrapped in tissue paper into a rubbish bin with a lid. Wash hands with liquid soap and water afterwards<\/li>\n<li>Build up good body resistance and maintain a healthy lifestyle<\/li>\n<li>Maintain good environmental hygiene and good ventilation<\/li>\n<li>If symptoms of respiratory infection exist, wear a face mask and consult a doctor promptly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The initial symptoms of avian flu are similar to those of other influenza viruses, including fever. Those symptoms include generalised muscle pain, a cough and sore throat.
