加拿大将于2019年7月30日(依据2019年5月1日的协议)加入《2007年内罗毕国际船舶残骸清除公约》(以下简称“公约”)。
新保险规定要求经营船只满足下列条件的船东对船舶残骸清除进行强制保险：
- 船舶总吨位达到300吨及以上；和
- 在加拿大注册，或在加拿大港口或码头停靠(包括内河航道、领海和专属经济区)。

Canada ratifies the Wreck Removal Convention
Canada will become party to the Nairobi Convention on the Removal of Wrecks, 2007 (“the convention”) effective 30 July 2019 (by way of agreement dated 1 May, 2019).
This new insurance requirement stipulates that compulsory insurance for wreck removal is required for owners who operate vessels that:
- are 300 gross tonnage and above; and
- are registered in Canada, or that call at ports or terminals in Canada (including inland waterways, the territorial sea and exclusive economic zone).
