SISTRAM Further Delays

The Club has been advised that implementation of the SISTRAM reporting scheme has been delayed until further notice.

Following a meeting at the Naval Control of Shipping Command at the Brazilian Navy´s headquarters in Rio, we have been informed that the implementation of the Sistram IV, the system developed by the Brazilian Navy to comply with SOLAS Convention in attending emergency situations, has been postponed until further notice due to problems with some vessels accessing the system through on-board internet.

In the meantime, Vessels should continue to report routes/accidents by email to controle@cotram.mar.mil.br
