Plan documents requirment - Panama

The Panama Canal Authority has issued an advisory reminding masters to have available to present to authorised boarding officers a copy of the vessel's cargo securing manual, including the Container Stowage Plan, and General Arrangements Plan. The advisory says the documents will be taken ashore by the boarding officer, who will provide a receipt for same, and will then be returned via the vessel's local agent "as soon as the revisions are completed". The nature of the revisions is not made clear, but vessels may want to carry extra copies of the relevant plans on board when transiting the Panama Canal to ensure that they are not without these documents.
