Armed attacks on ships in the Gulf of Aden off Yemen have been reported involving several small vessels together with a ‘mother’ ship. Ships should be aware of the dangers of the Middle East Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Arabian Sea and Red Sea and attempt to keep a distance from the coastlines off both Yemen and Somalia.
