A 7 day advance notice must be sent to the P&amp;I if any voyage may involve in the carriage of cargoes may liquefy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;\">In the second half of last year, there were more than four casualties happened which were related to nickel ore or cargoes may liquefy. The potential risks of these kinds of cargo to the vessel cannot be simply ignored. In the event that a vessel carrying nickel ore is involved in an incident and with the risks so well published, an Owner\/Master may have to demonstrate that they have exercised due diligence in accepting, loading and carrying this cargo. According to the IMSBC, SOLAS and relevant regulations, they all demand the Owner\/Master to act prudently as to prevent any risk and mitigate the loss while voyage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;\">A precautionary guidance or procedure for loading and carriage may assist on the vessel safety.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;\">Acknowledge the P&amp;I Club prior the loading;<\/li>\n<li style=\"border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;\">An independent surveyor shall appoint to inspecting the sampling the cargo;<\/li>\n<li style=\"border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;\">The cargo sample shall send for further test by an independent laboratory; and<\/li>\n<li style=\"border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;\">DO NOT LOADwhile rainy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;\">If clients are in any doubt, please contact us or the relevant P&amp;I Clubs for advice.
