Cement cargoes, which account for about 5% of the dry bulk trade, can prove to be extremely problematic when carried in conventional bulk carriers as opposed to specialized cement carriers. If not dealt with in an appropriate manner, cement carriage can result in cleaning expenses of over USD 100,000 and delay the vessel for a significant period of time.<\/p>\n

BEFORE LOADING<\/strong><\/p>\n

The main problems with cement cargo arise when holds are not initially dry, clean and watertight. The majority of claims arising from cement cargo are caused by the following factors: solidification when wet; contamination by residues of previous cargoes; retention of heat when loaded warm.<\/p>\n

There exist special chemicals that may be applied to the cargo holds before loading that serve to protect the surface from the cargo and subsequent cleaning processes. However, these chemicals must be applied according to the manufacturer’s recommendations as they may prove to be difficult to remove and cause problems when the holds are repainted.<\/p>\n

\u6c34\u6ce5\u8d27\u7269\u53d1\u751f\u95ee\u9898\u7684\u4e3b\u8981\u539f\u56e0\u662f\uff0c\u88c5\u8d27\u524d\u8239\u8231\u672a\u80fd\u505a\u5230\u5e72\u71e5\u3001\u6e05\u6d01\u548c\u6c34\u5bc6\u3002\u53d1\u751f\u6c34\u6ce5\u8d27\u7269\u7d22\u8d54\u4e3b\u8981\u56e0\u7d20\u662f\uff1a\u9047\u6e7f\u540e\u56fa\u5316\uff1b\u88ab\u4e4b\u524d\u6240\u88c5\u8d27\u7269\u7684\u6b8b\u7559\u7269\u6c61\u67d3\uff1b\u88c5\u8f7d\u65f6\u8d27\u7269\u5347\u6e29\u672a\u80fd\u53ca\u65f6\u9000\u53bb\u3002<\/p>\n
