Circular 1: Requirements for loading in India of Iron Ore Fines during Monsoon Season (from SOE)<\/p>\n

During the course of last year we issued to Members a number of Loss Prevention Notices regarding the loading of Iron Ore Fines and the risks associated with cargoes that may liquefy. With the on-set of the south-west monsoon season due again shortly we consider it prudent to re-issue a consolidated advice, as the problems have not gone away and that there will always be risks associated with the carriage of iron ore fines with a moisture content that exceeds its Transportable Moisture Limit. Details please refer to attached circular 1.<\/p>\n

Circular 2:  Piracy: A Change of Tactics – West Africa (from UK)<\/p>\n

Members should be made aware of a worrying change in motives and tactics adopted by Pirates off the West African coast. It seems the commercial opportunities of piracy have manifest themselves a little deeper in the West African pirates who are now turning to wholesale theft of oil cargoes from tankers.
