Indonesia – Mining Export Ban<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Spica Services Indonesia, the Clubs local correspondent, have advised that the Indonesian Government will proceed to implement the proposed ban on the export of raw minerals. This ban will come into effect on January 12th.<\/p>\n

On 23rd December, 2013, Mr. Susilo Siswoutomo, the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in Jakarta, asserted that the government is committed to carry out the mandate of Law Nomor 4 Year 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining (Minerba) consequently.<\/p>\n

Viewing the development of the current situation of the mining industry, the government evaluates the preparation of policy implementation. This is because most of the mining companies forced to stop operating if the policy was implemented because there are no processing plants in the country that can absorb their minerals.<\/p>\n
