Once underway, the 2nd Officer (the 12 to 16 watch officer) goes to the bridge to relieve the Master as OOW about 10 minutes before noon. The vessel is about to leave the pilotage area on a northerly heading. The weather is fine with moderate visibility. After the pilot has disembarked, the Master alters to a north easterly course.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 11.818181991577148px; text-align: justify;\">The Master passes the con to the 2nd Officer and leaves the bridge shortly after the vessel had steadied on the new heading. The duty AB is at the wheel. The Master did not leave any specific instructions, stating only that he would be in the ship\u2019s office and that he should be notified just before the next waypoint.
