The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has recently issues a circular with an update on the charges, imposed on ships, passing the coast of Zambales province in Philippines. It is expected that the Province of Zambales will withdraw its previous resolution and cancel any and all outstanding invoices issued, relating to the implementation of its VTS service.<\/p>\n

Background<\/strong>
The Zambales authorities started imposing transit charges of \u201cProvincial Coastwatch Environmental Monitoring System User Fee\u201d on vessels sailing through Zambales waters from the beginning of August, 2015, which appears to be aimed at monitoring the entry of foreign vessels in these congested areas and to prevent dumping of waste in Philippine waters.<\/p>\n
