The Club was recently involved in another case of kidnapping crew members in West Africa.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to a recent International Maritime Bureau\u2019s (IMB) report, more crew were kidnapped at sea in 2016 than in any of the previous ten years.<\/p>\n

The conditions in which seafarers are held are generally poor, the major threat being the highly unhygienic conditions. The camps in which hostages are held vary, but most are in very swampy areas far from any settlements. Mosquitoes and other insects are a constant presence, and snakes are commonly seen. Bites from insects can lead to infections and illness during and post captivity. Food is also often in short supply. Poor hygiene can lead quickly to ill health, with many kidnap victims suffering episodes of diarrhoea and vomiting while in captivity.<\/p>\n

\u8239\u5458\u88ab\u5173\u62bc\u7684\u6761\u4ef6\u975e\u5e38\u8270\u82e6\uff0c\u6700\u5927\u7684\u5a01\u80c1\u6765\u81ea\u6076\u52a3\u7684\u536b\u751f\u6761\u4ef6\u3002\u4eba\u8d28\u5173\u62bc\u5728\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u636e\u70b9\uff0c\u4f46\u901a\u5e38\u90fd\u4f4d\u4e8e\u8352\u65e0\u4eba\u70df\u7684\u6cbc\u6cfd\u5730\u533a\u3002\u868a\u5b50\u8086\u8650\uff0c\u86c7\u866b\u51fa\u6ca1\u3002\u868a\u866b\u53ee\u54ac\u5f80\u5f80\u5bfc\u81f4\u4eba\u8d28\u5728\u5173\u62bc\u671f\u95f4\u751a\u81f3\u4ee5\u540e\uff0c\u51fa\u73b0\u611f\u67d3\u6216\u81f4\u75c5\u3002\u98df\u7269\u7ecf\u5e38\u532e\u4e4f\u3002\u7cdf\u7cd5\u7684\u536b\u751f\u6761\u4ef6\u5bb9\u6613\u5f15\u8d77\u8eab\u4f53\u4e0d\u9002\uff0c\u8bb8\u591a\u4eba\u8d28\u5728\u5173\u62bc\u671f\u95f4\u4e0d\u65f6\u51fa\u73b0\u8179\u6cfb\u6216\u5455\u5410\u3002<\/p>\n
