Spring marks the beginning of the Asian Gypsy Moth (AGM) risk period in many countries. Heightened vessel surveillance for AGM commenced on 9 January 2017 in Australian ports while 1 March 2017 marks the start of the period identified as the \u201cAGM risk period\u201d in Western Canadian ports.<\/strong><\/p>\n

AGM is an exotic pest with established populations only in countries in the Asia Pacific, such as Russia, China, Korea, and Japan. If introduced in countries where it does not exist naturally, it has the potential to seriously affect the country\u2019s agricultural and forest resources. Adult moths frequently lay their egg masses on vessels and shipping containers, and since these egg clusters often survive to hatch at ports of call around the world, exclusion efforts are considered a priority by many local port authorities.<\/p>\n

\u4e9a\u6d32\u821e\u6bd2\u86fe\u662f\u5916\u6765\u7684\u866b\u5bb3\uff0c\u4ec5\u6e90\u4e8e\u4e9a\u592a\u5730\u533a\u56fd\u5bb6\uff0c\u4f8b\u5982\u4fc4\u7f57\u65af\u3001\u4e2d\u56fd\u3001\u97e9\u56fd\u548c\u65e5\u672c\u3002\u4e00\u65e6\u4fb5\u5165\u975e\u539f\u751f\u79cd\u7fa4\u7684\u56fd\u5bb6\u540e\uff0c\u5f88\u53ef\u80fd\u4f1a\u4e25\u91cd\u5f71\u54cd\u8be5\u56fd\u7684\u519c\u4e1a\u548c\u6797\u4e1a\u8d44\u6e90\u3002\u6210\u5e74\u86fe\u4f1a\u5728\u5904\u4e8e\u4e9a\u592a\u5730\u533a\u7684\u8239\u8236\u4e0a\u548c\u96c6\u88c5\u7bb1\u4e0a\u9891\u7e41\u5927\u91cf\u4ea7\u5375\uff0c\u7531\u4e8e\u8fd9\u4e9b\u5375\u5757\u901a\u5e38\u80fd\u591f\u5b58\u6d3b\u4e0b\u6765\uff0c\u5e76\u80fd\u5728\u5168\u7403\u5404\u6e2f\u53e3\u5b75\u5316\uff0c\u8bb8\u591a\u6e2f\u53e3\u5f53\u5c40\u5bf9\u6392\u9664\u4e9a\u6d32\u821e\u6bd2\u86fe\u98ce\u9669\u7ed9\u4e88\u9ad8\u5ea6\u91cd\u89c6\u3002<\/p>\n
