The Correspondent advises that such fishing is illegal unless the seafarer is in possession of a fishing permit and that any fish caught complies with the requirements regarding the catch and bag size. Whilst the Correspondent reports that Authorities previously turned a blind eye to fishing, the Department of Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) now have inspectors to attend on-board vessels to check for any illegal fish on board. Last week three seafarers in Durban were faced with arrest and prosecution under the Marine Living Resources Act No. 18 of 1988, under which offenders can be fined up to ZAR 2 million (approximately USD 135,000) and\/or face up to 5 years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">See attached file: South Africa &#8211; No Fishing by Crew and Declaration of Fish Products.pdf<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"color: #022469; font-size: 18.6667px; text-align: justify;\">\u5357\u975e &#8211; \u7981\u6b62\u8239\u5458\u6355\u9c7c\u548c\u9c7c\u4ea7\u54c1\u7533\u62a5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u4f26\u6566\u4fdd\u8d54\u534f\u4f1a\u4ece\u5357\u975e\u901a\u4ee3(P&amp;I Associates)\u5f97\u77e5\uff0c\u5357\u975e\u5f53\u5c40\u4f1a\u5bf9\u6d77\u5458\u5728\u951a\u5730\u6216\u6e2f\u53e3\u7684\u8239\u8fb9\u6355\u9c7c\u884c\u4e3a\u91c7\u53d6\u884c\u52a8\u3002\u901a\u4ee3\u8868\u793a\uff0c\u8fd9\u79cd\u6355\u9c7c\u884c\u4e3a\u662f\u975e\u6cd5\u7684\uff0c\u9664\u975e\u6d77\u5458\u6301\u6709\u6355\u9c7c\u8bb8\u53ef\u8bc1\u4e14\u6240\u6355\u83b7\u7684\u4efb\u4f55\u9c7c\u7c7b\u90fd\u7b26\u5408\u6709\u5173\u6e14\u83b7\u91cf\u548c\u5c3a\u5bf8\u7684\u89c4\u5b9a\u3002\u867d\u7136\u5f53\u5c40\u4ee5\u524d\u5bf9\u6355\u9c7c\u884c\u4e3a\u7741\u4e00\u53ea\u773c\u95ed\u4e00\u53ea\u773c\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u73b0\u5728\u6e14\u4e1a\u548c\u6797\u4e1a\u90e8(DAFF)\u6709\u68c0\u67e5\u5458\u5230\u8239\u4e0a\u68c0\u67e5\u662f\u5426\u6709\u4efb\u4f55\u975e\u6cd5\u6355\u83b7\u7684\u9c7c\u7c7b\u3002\u4e0a\u5468\uff0cDurban\u7684\u4e09\u540d\u6d77\u5458\u4f9d\u636e1988\u5e74\u7b2c18\u53f7\u300a\u6d77\u6d0b\u751f\u7269\u8d44\u6e90\u6cd5\u300b\u9762\u4e34\u902e\u6355\u548c\u8d77\u8bc9\uff0c\u6839\u636e\u8be5\u6cd5\u4ee4\uff0c\u8fdd\u6cd5\u8005\u53ef\u88ab\u5904\u4ee5\u6700\u9ad8200\u4e07\u624e\u5c14(\u7ea613.5\u4e07\u7f8e\u5143)\u7684\u7f5a\u6b3e\u548c\/\u6216\u6700\u9ad85\u5e74\u76d1\u7981\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u8be6\u7ec6\u4fe1\u606f\u8bf7\u53c2\u9605\u9644\u4ef6\u3002<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;ENG&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;CHN&nbsp;&nbsp; The Club has been advised by P&amp;I Associates, a correspondent in South Africa, of potential action by South African Authorities against seafarers fishing off the side of the vessel whilst at anchorage or in port.
