The worst accident hotspots are in the South China Sea and East Indies, Eastern Mediterranean, North Sea, Black Sea and around British Isles. Those are the areas of environmental and ecological significance. Over in the South China Sea and East Indies where the world&#8217;s top accident area identified, there have been 293 shipping accidents since 1999.
