Ratification by Russia and Phillippines fulfills the requirement of at least 30 ILO member countries ratifing the convention.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;\">Since 2006 The International Labour Organization (ILO), has worked to establish minimum requirements for almost all aspects of working conditions for seafarers. 21. August 2012 was an historical date, when the 30th country signed the treaties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;\">The MLC is the fourth pillar of maritime regulation covering international shipping, in line with SOLAS (Safety of Live at Sea), MARPOL (Prevention of Pollution from Ships) and STCW (Training, Certification and Watchkeeping of Seafarers).
