国际海事组织（IMO）下属海洋环境保护委员会（MEPC）于2021年6月17日通过329(76)号决议( IMO Resolution MEPC. 329(76) )，对《国际防止船舶造成污染公约》附则I进行了修订（MARPOL Annex I），禁止船舶在北极水域使用及运输作燃料用途的重燃油。

Amendments to MARPOL Annex I prohibiting the use, and carriage for use as fuel, of heavy fuel oil were adopted as per IMO Resolution MEPC. 329(76) on 17 Jun 2021.
