Contamination of Coffee by Wood Preservatives
A consignment of coffee was found to be contaminated due to the treatment of the container boards with a wood preservative product containing dichlorophenol.On delivery, the coffee was found to give off a bad odour and upon analysis was found to contain traces of dichlorophenol. As a result, the coffee was destroyed.
