鉴于埃及目前的状况，埃及海军及武装部队在总体上强化了对西奈(Sinai)以及苏伊士运河沿岸各城市的紧急状态，尤其是苏伊士运河。作为进入埃及的主要通道，苏伊士运河被认为是国家安全最敏感的地区。
因此，埃及海军最近对途经运河的船舶，以及在运河沿岸港口内停泊的船舶执行抽查制度。目前为止，这一抽查制度还不太繁重，没有导致船舶发生严重的迟延，也没有因此导致其他问题。

Vessel Searches in Egypt
Given the present situation in Egypt, the Egyptian Navy and the Armed Forces have heightened the state of emergency in Sinai, as well as all cities along the Canal in general with special emphasis on the Suez Canal itself. As one of the main sources of income to Egypt it is considered a sensitive national security priority.
Accordingly, the Egyptian Navy have lately implemented a random inspection system to be carried out on vessels transiting the canal as well as vessels berthing inside the ports along the Suez Canal. So far this has apparently not been too onerous and vessels have not suffered any significant delay or complication.
