OSM DUBA
It was reported by the owner of a general cargo ship DUBAI (9213gt, built in 1975) that a group of armed pirates had boarded the ship and taken control on June 2. The hijack happened in the Internationally Recommended Transit Corridor.
RIM
Nine people including Somali Pirates were reported died in June 2nd after a shoot-out on board hijacked general cargo RIM. During the battle with the pirates on board, one crew was seriously injured. However, the crew re-took the control of the vessel in the end and got the backup of two warships from EU. It was said that the crew’s successful actions against he pirates, who had been holding the vessel and the crew hostage since early February, was unprecedented.
Qsm Dubai
Soldiers from Somalia’s Puntland region stormed Panama –flagged general cargo QSM Dubai held by pirates. But gang members killed the captain in the operation. This 15,220 dwt vessel was taken inside the internationally recommended transit corridor from Brazil, which was carrying sugar to Bossaso.

Product Tanker Orkim Leader (5372 gt, built 2010) was boarded by six armed pirates at lat 03 04.6N, long 108 23.5E at 0010, June 10th, the pirates armed with knives, machetes, a crow bar and wire, boarded the tanker and stole property belonging to the crew and the ship. The vessel was proceeding to Singapore and expected to arrive at Jun 11.
