协会获悉，2013年12月初，印尼通过了关于禁止从印尼出口原矿的法律。据报道，该禁令将于2014年1月12日起生效。从20114年1月12日起，矿厂必须在当地加工矿石。不过协会认为，以目前的状况来看，该要求的可操作性不大。
矿产资源部最近提出建议，要求对那些承诺着手建造冶炼厂的矿山网开一面，但遭到拒绝。尽管产业部已经在起草禁令实施和执行细节，但目前的情势仍然不明确。

Update on Nickel Ore Cargoes in Indonesia
The Club has been advised that a law banning the export of raw ore from Indonesia has been endorsed by lawmakers in early December 2013. The ban is reportedly to take effect on 12th January 2014. From this date mining firms must process ores locally but we understand very few appear to be at the stage of being able to do this.
Recently the Mineral Resources Minister proposed an exemption for miners committed to building smelters, but this was rejected. The situation remains unclear even with Agencies drafting the implementation and enforcement of the ban.
