在过去一个月里，一帮声名狼藉的当地强盗、海盗、抢劫者、土匪及其它犯罪分子在孟加拉国港及外海锚地频繁作案。这样的情况使许多停靠在港内或锚地的外国商船经常面临着被抢、被盗或被攻击的威胁。最近就有两艘商船在港口内被抢，船上大批锌板货物被盗，同时被盗去的还有船上的其它贵重物品。

准备到该港口/区域进行贸易的船东务必格外谨慎，并及时联系当地的代理人或船东互保协会的通讯代理了解最新的情况。

Piracy and robbery in Bangladesh

We would like to inform ship owners about developments in Mongla Port, Bangladesh.

In the past month, a notorious gang of local robbers, pirates, looters, bandits and other criminals have become prevalent in the port of Mongla and the outer anchorage. As a result of this situation foreign vessels within the port or in the anchorage face a constant threat of being looted, robbed or attacked. Recently, a couple of vessels have been looted whilst in the port and large parts of a cargo of zinc plates were stolen, along with other valuables from the ship.

Ship owners intending to trade to this port/area should be extremely cautious and contact their local agent or the P&I club’s correspondent to ascertain the latest situation.
