在船壳保险下有众多不同种类附加条款，其中有一条是涉及船舶因潜在缺陷而导致额外损失产生索赔的条款。
该额外附加条款并非大部分保单均会附加的条款，因此即使在保单有附加该条款时有时在理赔阶段也会被忽略，但一旦发生有关潜在缺陷导致额外损失这类事故时，其影响却是比较重要的。
上述条款就是“协会船舶附加危险条款”（INSITUTE ADDITIONAL PERILS CLAUSES-HULLS），该条款本身是作为协会ITC 1983主险（Institute Time Clauses-Hulls,1/10/83）附加条款使用的，但目前已经广泛适用于国内人保船壳险条款。
因国内船东船壳险大都适用人保条款，本文仅针对人保远洋船壳险条款2017版与该额外附加条款进行简单解读，供大家参考。

Attention：The Institute Additional Perils Clauses – Hulls – An Important Additional Clause in Hull Insurance
Among the various additional clauses under hull insurance, there is one clause that deals with claims for additional losses arising from latent defects in the vessel.
This particular additional clause is not attached to most policies; therefore, even when it is included in a policy, it may sometimes be overlooked during the claims settlement stage. However, when an accident involving additional losses caused by latent defects does occur, its impact can be quite significant.
The above-mentioned clause is the “Institute Additional Perils Clauses – Hulls.” This clause was originally designed as additional clause to the Institute Time Clauses – Hulls, 1/10/83 (ITC 1983), but it is now widely applied to the domestic PICC hull insurance clauses.
Since most Chinese shipowners’ hull insurance is governed by the PICC clauses, this article will only provide a brief interpretation of the PICC Ocean Hull Insurance Clauses (2017 Edition) and this additional clause, for your reference.
