通函一：印度尼西亚矿石货物-更新 (From NOE)

建造于2005年，轻便极限型（Superamax）散货船维纳斯皇后号（Vinalines Queen）于2011年12月25日沉没后，国际干散货船东协会（Intercargo）就发表了一则新闻，称该船装载印度尼西亚镍矿，22名船员失踪。

通函二：西非海盗行为 (From NOE)

随着近期海盗对航行于西非海岸外船舶的袭击，目前尼日利亚海盗开始模仿索马里海盗策略，使用航母将海盗行为的范围扩大到海上。

协会提醒会员在西非海岸附近航行时需保持谨慎，尤其是尼日利亚海岸附近。

建议会员遵循《防范索马里沿海和阿拉伯海水域海盗袭击的最佳管理措施》(BMP4)中的建议和指导，尤其是有关风险评估、计划和船舶防护措施的内容。

Circular 1: Ore cargoes from Indonesia – Update (From NOE)

Intercargo has Issued a news release following the tragic loss of the 2005 built supramax bulk carrier Vinalines Queen first reported missing 25 December 2011. Allegedly carrying a cargo of Indonesian nickel ore, 22 crew members are feared lost.

Circular 2: West African piracy (From NOE)

Following recent attacks on vessels operating off the coast of West Africa, it is now thought that Nigerian pirates have begun to mimic the tactics employed by Somali gangs where motherships are being used to extend reach offshore.

Members are reminded to exercise caution whilst trading around the West African coast, in particular the Nigerian coast.

It is recommended that Members follow the advice and guidance contained within BMP4 particularly that relating to risk assessment, planning and vessel hardening measures.
