根据《土耳其环境法典》(Turkish Environmental Code)第20条，土耳其修订后的污染罚款已于2024年1月1日生效。如果发生海洋污染事件，土耳其环境保护局（EPA）或当地港口港务长可能会对船舶处以罚款。相比于2023年，罚款费率在2024年增加了58.5%。
