Further problems with Alleged Shortage Claims – Bulk Grain Cargoes – Algeri

More cases of shortage claims on discharging bulk cargo at Algerian ports have been reported. Possible reasons for shortage could be due to loss during transit when trucks are overloaded or due to the shore scales used.

It appears that when there is a surveyor attending the discharge, there are no shortage claims but without the presence of a surveyor, shortage claims regularly occur.
