
Recent amendments to Marine Pollution
As of 1 November 2002, the ” Marine Legislation ( Marine Pollution ) Act 2002 ” in New South Wales now gives effect to the provisions of the MARPOL Convention. Fines for oil pollution have been heavily increased and summons against the Owner, master or crew member can now be served on an agent of the ship.
