FDD department was recently involved on a case where the time charterers, a few months previously, ordered the bunkers. Since then, the vessel was delivered back to the ship owners. After a few months, when the vessel was again in Dubai to take on the bunkers, a bunker trader arrested the vessel. This supply of bunker was done in a long chain of contracts, and at one end to the chain was the physical supplier, and another end was the bunker trader. It seems that all have been paid their dues except the bunker trader. The case is still on-going, and the intention of this Circular is for the clients of Andrew Liu to pre-empt such situations that are costly and in a way very unfair to the Owners.

近日,我司抗辩险部门正在处理一起案件。期租租家,几个月前订购燃油。此后,船舶交付给船东。几个月过后,当船舶再次在迪拜加油时,燃油贸易商扣船。燃油的供应,历经很长的一条合同链,合同链的一端是实际供油商,另一端是燃油贸易商。案件看起来,除燃油贸易商外,各方都收到了油款。案件仍在进一步处理中,本文旨在提醒我司客户注意,此类事件代价高昂,且对船东非常不公。
