Defective lifebuoys is found by Swedish Transport Agency which is produced by Veleria S Giorgio. Instructions are being provided by Veleria S Giorgio on testing the lifebuoys and as follows:

1. Weigh the lifebuoy.
2. Remove one of the four reflective tapes covering the hole.
3. Check if the lifebuoy is full of foam material. If not, put it in water for a few minutes to let water inside the lifebuoy.
4. Weigh the lifebuoy for a second time and compare it with the first one. The difference should not exceed 400gr. If higher than that, the lifebuoy should be removed from service and replaced.

Masters are advised to check lifebuoys and carry out the above test where necessary, Defective lifebuoys may be returned to the supplier.

瑞典运输管理机构查出Veleria S Giorgio生产的Altura系列救生圈存在重大瑕疵。有見及此，Veleria S Giorgio提供了检测该系列救生圈的说明，具体如下：

1. 救生圈称重；
2. 撕下盖住孔口的四条反光带中的一条；
3. 检查救生圈是否填满泡沫材料；如果未填满，将救生圈放入水中浸泡数分钟，让水流入救生圈；
4. 再次称重，对比首次称重的结果，差值应不超过400克。如果结果相差超过400 克，该救生圈应被淘汰和更换。

建议各船長检查所有救生圈，并在必要时实施上述检测。有瑕疵的救生圈可退回供货商。
