自2013年8月20日《海事劳工公约》生效以来,港口国监督加强了对船舶的检查,依法扣留违反规定的船舶。船东应仔细审查,确定其是否遵守了《海事劳工公约》及《国际海上人命安全公约》、《防止船舶污染国际公约》和《航海人员训练、发证及当值标准国际公约》等其他相关海事监管的规定,尤其是《2006年海事劳工公约》中有关食品和膳食的规定。
《2006年海事劳工公约》重点提出了一套针对船上厨师或为499总吨位以上的任何船舶提供膳食的人员的培训指导。

Food and the MLC 2006
There are a number of PSC inspections and detentions of vessels due to matters against the Maritime Labour Convention which came into force on 20 August 2013. Shipowners should carefully review their compliance with the MLC and other related maritime regulatory provision such as SOLAS, MARPOL and STCW, especially the provisions on food and catering under the MLC 2006.
The key point comes out of the MLC 2006 convention is a set of guidelines for the training of ship’s cooks or for those people who are responsible for catering on board any vessel above 499 GWT.
