A newly formed and curiously named crime unit operating in the Nigerian Delta is terrorizing shipping in the region, according to fresh analysis from Bergen Risk Solutions (BRS).
The self-styled “Idiot Family” was formed in December last year and is operating from the Sengana, Nun and Brass rivers.
BRS suggests that the new group is behind a string of recent attacks on merchant shipping and offshore and fishing vessels.
