Ministry of Transport (MOT) issued a new regulation regarding setting of Three Emission Control Areas (ECA) in Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta and Bohai-rim Waters.
Yangtze River Delta
From 1st April 2016, Vessels call port including Shanghai, Ningbo-Zhoushan, Suzhou and Nantong, in Yangtze river, are required to use fuel with less than or equal to 0.5% of the Sulphur content. The detailed regulation and rules for implementing of such request will depend on official notification issued by the port authority.

交通部颁布新法规，在珠三角、长三角和环渤海水域设立船舶排放控制区。
长三角
自2016年4月1日起，所有停靠上海、宁波-舟山、苏州和南通等长三角主要港口的船舶使用含硫量≦0.5%m/m的燃油。但实施细则仍待港务局正式通知。
