There are many shipowners of small non IACS classed vessels which were built to trade domestically in Japan waters. On account of the vessel’s size constraints, many of these vessels are rebuilt and lengthened at a repair yard in China after purchase.
We understand that many shipowners and their insurance brokers do not disclose the information to the insurers the vessels are reconstructed and or lengthened. We also understand that this information is not advised to the insurers to avoid the insurers declining to quote.
This is a very dangerous and irresponsible practice and we have no hesitation in saying will result in no coverage for the vessel.

据我们所知，许多船东和他们的保险经纪人没有告知保险人船舶已被改建和/或加长的信息。而不告知保险人这些信息是为了避免保险人拒绝报价。
这是很危险而且非常不负责任的行为。毫无疑问，这样做将导致船舶保险失效。
