Ballast water regulation
Peru has recently updated its ballast water regulations. Both national and foreign-flagged ships must continue to change ballast water not less than twelve miles away from the coastline but, in addition, vessels are now required to issue a ballast water notification to the maritime authorities, and to maintain a ballast water register book
