It is clear shipowners rely on the redelivery notices of the charterers in order for them to look for and agree terms for the vessel’s next fixture.
Approximate and definite notices of redelivery under time charters must not only be given in good faith by the charterers, the charterers are deemed to know circumstances which would have been known to them had they made a reasonable and proper enquiry.
Similarly, the owner’s obligations under a voyage charter with regard to expected notices of readiness are the same, that they must be made not only in good faith but they must be based on facts and circumstances which ought to be known if a proper enquiry was made.

还船通知
众所周知，船东需要依据租家的还船通知情况来寻找下个租约并确定租约中的条款。
期租下，租家所递交的粗略和精确还船通知不能仅仅是基于善意的，因为只要他们做合理而恰当的查询，就应当知道更准确的还船日期。
程租下，对于船舶预计准备就绪通知，船东的义务也是一样的，即船东的通知不能仅仅是基于善意，而是要基于他们做合理而恰当的查询后得知的事实和情形。
