We have handled several disputes recently, which were suspected to be related with North Korea sanctions. Suspicion itself was enough to cause serious operational and commercial difficulties for all the stakeholders. Legal team of Andrew Liu suggests that ship owners and charterers should exercise due diligence to pre-empt breaching the sanction regime. If the sanction regime is indeed breached, the vessel’s insurance cover would be prejudiced .
