Introduction
Assureds will be aware of the tragic explosions in Tianjin on 12 August 2015. The explosions have affected Tianjin port. This E-Bulletin comments briefly on the current situation at the port and points out important issues that assureds should be aware of if they are to be involved in shipments there over the forthcoming period.
Update as of 17 August
The first explosion took place in the evening of 12 August 2015 in a dangerous cargo warehouse in the international logistics centre of Tianjin port, around 3 miles away from the nearest terminal. At around 2250hrs, fire was sighted at the container warehouse and shortly after there was an explosion of the entire warehouse. Subsequently a second explosion occurred in the area involving nearby dangerous goods cargo container warehouses. Serious property damage and deaths have been reported.

2015年8月12日晚，天津港国际物流中心危险品仓库发生第一次爆炸，事故发生地距离最近的码头约3英里。当晚22点50分左右，在集装箱仓库位置发现火焰，不久整个仓库爆炸。随后，附近的危险品集装箱仓库发生第二次爆炸。爆炸造成严重财产损失和人员伤亡。
