We would like to provide you an update on Asian Gypsy Moth(“AGM”) problem at North America area. Following the problem of AGM are become serious recently, the United States and Canadian Government Authority begin to action taken against the infested ships to prevent the AGM spreading at the North America area.
For avoid the risk of spreading, all the vessels will be subject to an intensive inspection before entering US and Canada. The vessels will order to navigate into international waters for avoid the AGM spread if vessels found infested. This can lead to significant delays and be costly to the ship owner. Ships will not be allowed to load or discharge until they are fully free from any form of AGM. Also, Due to North American coordination, vessels will not be able to simply divert to other US, Canadian or Mexican ports.
We do advice all our Clients that, if vessels will calling at ports in eastern Russia, Japan, Korea and northern China during designated flight periods (June until September), you should either
- obtain a certificate stating that the vessel is free of AGM (only available in Russian and participating Japanese ports),
- perform a comprehensive self inspection well in advance of arrival at Canadian and US ports.
We do strongly recommend all our Clients to obtain the Certificate for the Vessels. The vessels with a certificate will be allowed to enter port without delay.

我们强烈建议我们的客户,如船舶需在特定的亚洲吉普赛蛾飞行期(六月至九月)期间内停靠俄罗斯东部、日本、韩国以及中国华北地区港口,请必须为船舶作如下措施:
1. 获得无亚洲吉普赛蛾证明(仅在俄罗斯港口和日本部分港口提供),或
2. 在到达美国和加拿大港口前进行全面自检。
我们於此建议我们的客户为船舶取得相关证明,持有相关证明的船舶可免检查并立即进港。
