At end October 2003, a livestock carrier MV ‘Cormo Express’ carrying a cargo of sheep to Saudi Arabia was not permitted entry into port due to allegations the cargo was suffering from foot and mouth disease. The vessel sustained delays of nearly 2 weeks during which negotiations were held with the Saudi authorities before vessel was allowed entry subject to payment of monies. This delay is insured under the Strike Club cover.
