The International Maritime Bureau have issued a new report on piracy for the first quarter of 2017

The report issued on 04 MAY 17 has highlighted an increase of activity based on the same time as last year. There have been 43 ships attacked, 33 vessels boarded and 58 seafarers captured so far this year.

The report, as attached, details the three key areas where piracy and armed robbery are prevalent namely Gulf of Guinea, Somalia and the Horn of Africa & Southern Philippines.

The report should serve as a timely reminder to Members for the need of constant vigilance in these areas and to not relax anti-piracy measures.

国际海事局(IMB)已发布2017年第一季度海盗报告

据2017年5月4日发布的最新报告显示,与去年同期相比,海盗活动有所增长。截至目前为止,今年已有43艘船舶曾遭袭击,33艘船舶被非法登船,58名船员被劫持。

随附的报告指出了三个海盗活动和持械抢劫频发的重点区域,即几内亚湾、索马里以及非洲之角和南菲律宾。

该报告可作为一个及时的提醒,会员途径上述海域时应保持警惕,不能在防海盗措施时有所松懈。
